Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Airline Program Development, the role will be responsible to strengthen, lead, deliver and report on the strategies and programs of both GTAA and operating carriers to successfully deliver the airline engagement strategy, facility improvements, and lead the overall health of incumbent and new carriers operating at Toronto Pearson. This includes the delivery of programs related to innovative technology to streamline processes, delivery of airline developed products, airline engagement through LIFT, and joint development of services to create a hassle-free travel experience.

Key Accountabilities:


  • Define airline requirements for new developments, representing the needs of the airline community
  • Lead and deliver a suite of projects and programs tailored to an airline’s strategic imperatives, with a focus on Toronto Pearson’s hub carriers
  • Implement innovative technology-based solutions to promote a seamless travel experience
  • Lead airline coordination and communications efforts related to the T1 and T3 development programs, including airline engagement, product deployment and construction mitigation planning
  • Lead and develop joint relationships with new and existing airline partners, including senior airline representatives at a local and national level
  • Guide, mentor and lead a matrix-based team of colleagues, project managers and contracted resources in joint discussions providing a united voice to the airline community
  • Lead people by providing coaching, guidance and development by providing feedback for personal and career growth
  • Development and oversight of agreements related to airline programs, including surrey program
  • Development and management of service levels, reporting, and oversight of handler performance as it relates to above-wing ground handling and licenses for PRM contracts


The salary for this management non-unionized position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.

Qualifications:


  • Post-secondary diploma with a business focus and relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of people management or people leadership experience
  • 5+ years in airport or airline operations
  • 5+ years experience in contract management
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
  • Able to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively reach a broad audience of internal and external customers and other key partners
  • Ability to successfully lead under timelines and respond to critical and or changing priorities.
  • Requires ability to learn and adapt quickly about business, goals and strategies.
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • An understanding of airport services, airport agencies, and airport operations is preferred.
  • Knowledge of passenger flows and terminal layouts
  • Knowledge of GTAA contracting and procurement procedures & processes
