Technical Operations division's task is to execute Finnair's flight operations safely, economically and in a reliable manner. Flight operations entail the pilot resources, flight planning, flight competence optimization, coordination of and compliance to regulations as well as operational maintenance and ground operations. Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the airworthiness of Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes. We are now looking for an ENGINEER, STRUCTURES to be part part of our Structures Team in CAMO Engineering. The main purpose of this role is to handle structural issues concerning Finnair and Norra fleet. The main responsibility of the role is to handle aircraft structural repairs, overhauls, AD’s and SB’s. In addition, the communication between OEM and Finnair is is part of the responsibility area in this role. A good fit for this role is an experienced engineer with previous experience in aircraft structure. Main responsibilities: Independently complete assigned duties in their Engineering Team and monitoring Finnair fleet system performance and reliability, resolving problem cases, monitoring manufacturer/community information to improve aircraft reliability and monitoring airworthiness data to keep aircraft in compliance with the requirements. Carry the responsibility for the aircraft system or sub-system assigned. Set, manage and develop the aircraft structure related processes, e.g., damage chart process. Responsibility for keeping aircraft repair data updated and according to, airworthiness, Finnair Technical Operations and aircraft lessor standards including liaison with third party MRO structural engineering. Airframe Related Components (ARC) business (engine cowling, thrust reverses, radomes, LG's) management together with Engine Business Area. Support Operative Engineering and Line Maintenance in Aircraft structural related operative/ production issues: Resolve production service requests for structural damages and repairs, obtain approved repair data for beyond SRM repairs. Manage the fleet structural repair & modification plan over the whole operational lifetime. Manage and develop continuously repair instructions and in-house capabilities. Manage technical content for repairable component structural repairs ordered from third party. Liaison with third party MRO structural engineering to keep aircraft repair data updated and according to, airworthiness, Finnair Technical Operations and aircraft lessor standards. Our expectations: Applicable technical education at B.Sc. or M.Sc. Level min. 6 months of experience in relevant technical / industry background Knowledge of Part-CAMO, Part-M, and Part-145 regulations Profound knowledge of aircraft maintenance program philosophy and principles. Knowledge of structural repair manuals, practices, and methods Good team working and communication skills Good command of English for the purpose of spoken communication with vendors/OEMs/other airlines and writing formal and accurate service requests to OEMs Good technical skills and for the purpose of writing maintenance instructions based on approved data Able to take the ownership of the responsible structural area under CAMO requirements Understanding of business side when discussing contracts with OEM and MRO together with Finnair procurement This role is situated in Technical Operations, Continuing Airworthiness and Powerplant Management and reports to Manager, Maintenance Program & Compliance.
