About The Opportunity
Jacobs Nuclear is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
Jacobs Nuclear provides the front end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. Being part of the PPP Team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world. As a result of this increasing demand for our services we are looking for a Communications Lead to join our team in Birchwood Park, Warrington, Cumbria, with options of hybrid work.
We are looking for an individual who brings fresh ideas, creativity and an eye for detail, to support the delivery of our internal and external communications plan.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within communications or marketing environments, creating and delivering content for multiple platforms.

Responsibilities
This role requires a high degree of content generation, for a range of channels and audiences, as well as a willingness to support colleagues with wider communications activity such as events and engagements.
The role will include, but not be limited to, the following activities
- Sourcing, gathering, creating, editing and proofing content across all media forms e.g. digital media, print, photography, film, online and offline to support our Lot 2 (Jacobs) and PPP internal and external objectives.
- Identifying and developing good news stories from across our programme and major projects.
- Writing stories / articles for internal and customer magazines, press releases and social media
- Creating and executing communications plans
- Organise internal events to support workforce engagement
- Working with internal support functions and third parties to deliver activities in the communications strategy
- Working with internal graphic designers to deliver high quality materials and multimedia
- Writing award submissions.
Here’s What You’ll Need
- A degree or equivalent expertise
- Significant experience of working in public relations, communications or marketing teams
- A track record of delivering communications that deliver agreed outcomes
- Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
- Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate on projects
- Good network-building skills and ability to build rapport and credibility with senior managers and stakeholders
- Experience of overseeing multimedia production and editing skills are desirable
