Whether you’re at one of the 154 airports we operate from, or are helping to support them from our central offices, a job in Operations is all about keeping the front line of our business (and our customers) moving in a safe and efficient way. We rely on them to have the right people, processes, and equipment ready at the right time. And whilst they're helping to make low cost travel easy, we’re looking after them with great working environments, flexible shifts, bonus schemes, and great teams to work in.

The Training Technical specialist [TTS] role resides within Training Planning, a functional area of Crew Planning. The role is a partner to Crew Optimisation, and Delivery teams producing, managing and influencing crew rosters from initial construction through to the handover to the Integrated Control Centre - Crewing team.

As an TTS, you'll enjoy the opportunity to challenge the status quo and strive for roster perfection for our extensive crew of over 14,000. Your proficiency in manipulating and interpreting large volumes of data will be crucial as you continuously enhance our rosters month after month. With a relentless focus on improvement, you'll guide our officers in optimising crew products, leveraging your expertise as a passionate Crew Planner experienced in managing a large volume resource.

What You Need To Do This Role

You will need at least 3 years of planning experience, specifically in building rosters/plans for teams of 200 or more within a complex planning department, using commercial Optimisation/AI software. Experience with Jeppesen or IBS is desirable. Expertise in Excel and data management, along with a willingness to develop skills in Databricks data management is essential. While a STEM degree level education or equivalent and experience utilising optimisation software is preferred, a willingness to develop skills is just as important.

Were looking for team players, unafraid to positively challenge for roster improvement, with a questioning mind and a strong customer focus. Self-reliance and initiative are crucial, as is the ability to handle concurrent tasks and understand the impact of schedule design on crew rosters. Knowledge of Fatigue Risk Management principles and airline/transport industry planning regulations is essential, as is an understanding of how planning decisions within the crew supply chain impact business costs.
