Key Responsibilities

The Staff Representative – Contract Strategy position falls under Airport Operations and entails a diversity of responsibilities. This role encompasses supporting RFPs (Request for Proposals), engaging in contract sales, conducting sales meetings with other carriers, developing proposals, negotiating terms, and being responsible for the overall contract process. The organization plays a pivotal part in driving successful contract outcomes and maintaining effective communication between collaborators.

  • Request For Proposal (RFP) support to Airport Operations and Procurement for ground handling of International stations and select lines of service (e.g., cabin cleaning, wheelchair, cabin cleaning, passenger services, etc.) for mainline
  • Work with Airport Operations to review and define hub/station specfic work scopes to be included in Procurement RFP's to suppliers
  • Coordinate and provide operational guidance related to the line of service RFP such as level of operations, staffing, wheelchair statistics, ground service equipment requirements, etc.
  • Evaluate service provider capability to execute the scope of services through a comprehensive review of their staffing, operational experience and ability, infrastructure, transition planning, and coordination with Safety and Procurement on other key supplier evaluations (e.g., safety program, diversity, etc.)
  • Present evaluations to Airport Operations, Procurement and other key stakeholders
  • Contract Sales, including sales meetings with other carriers, proposal development, negotiations, along with contract reviews, development and execution
  • Lead, coordinate and interface with appropriate stakeholders (Hub and Station Leadership, Resource Planning, Legal, Alliances, etc.) to develop and provide ground handling proposals to other carriers
  • Lead meetings with other carriers tor review and clarify scope of serivces to be contracted
  • Identify and coordinate legal review of non-standard contract language, contract exhibits, etc.
  • Negotiate, amend, and execute ground handling agreements with other carriers and coordinate implementation with Airport Operations
  • Work with the other carriers and Airport Operations on the successful performance of the ground handling agreements
  • Interface with Accounts Payable, stations and carriers to ensure proper issuance of all invoices and proper payment of services

NOTE: This position is based at the CSC-Willis Tower, located in Chicago, IL and considered as hybrid work-schedule working on a 2-day in office schedule. However, that may evolve with the needs of the company.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline
  • Experience managing contracts and/or outside vendor relationships
  • Analyst experience in Airport Operations, Global Operations or Finance
  • Experience working with various organizations to solve problems and gain commitments
  • 1 - 3 years of analytical experience
  • 1 year airline operational experience
  • Proven track record as an innovator and problem solver
  • Adept at building relationships
  • Credibility and respect with peers, subordinates and superiors
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
