Greater Bay Airlines announces leadership change

Mr. Wong Cho Bau, Chairman of the Board of Greater Bay Airlines, announced that Mr. Stanley Hui Hon Chung, currently a member of the Board, will also assume the role of the Chief Executive Officer of the airlines, replacing Mr. Algernon Yau with immediate effect.

As has been announced by the incoming Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, Mr. Algernon Yau is leaving Greater Bay Airlines to join the new Administration of the HKSAR Government as the Minister for Commerce and Economic Development, to be sworn in on the 1st July 2022. Mr. Wong Cho Bau and members of the Board of the Greater Bay Airlines wish Mr. Algernon Yau every success in his new role with the incoming Administration under the leadership of Mr. Lee Ka Chiu.

GBA is an international carrier that offers scheduled passenger and cargo services. GBA received its first aircraft in September 2021, and the Air Operator’s Certificate in October 2021. In February 2022, it was granted the Air Transport License of Hong Kong. GBA has two 2 Boeing 737-800 aircrafts in service and the third aircraft planned to join in late 2022 and plans its fleet expansion according to market demand in the next 5 years.
