Applies knowledge of advanced analytic algorithms and technologies (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, Optimization) to deliver better predictions and/or intelligent automation that enables smarter business decisions. Applies strong communication and story-telling skills to summarize statistical/algorithmic findings, draw business conclusions, and present actionable insight in a way that resonates with business/groups. Key Functions & Accountabilities are broad and complex and include overall responsibility:

Provide statistical and analytical expertise in support of Air Canada’s AI Lab opportunities.

Evaluate, innovate, and recommend mathematical and statistical approaches for the improvement of current processes & data models.

Develop, implement, and maintain statistical models.
-
Analyze data, identify trends, produce statistical reports.
-
Present findings to appropriate value stream.

Design and program queries for extracting information and metrics from data stored in various databases.

Design, program, automate, and maintain ad-hoc databases and queries, dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, reports.

Work with the business to monitor, investigate, correct, and prevent data quality issues.

Integrate data from various internal resources to promote the strategic use of data.

Document data flow, systems, and processes in data collection to improve efficiency and apply use cases.

Provide supporting data and analysis for business case development for various improvement initiatives.

Utilize analysis best practices to evaluate business issues.
Qualifications
-
2+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in any of the following:
-
Experience with programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SAS, SPSS, Perl) and machine learning /deep learning algorithms/packages (e.g. XGBoost, H2O, SparkML).

Experience in writing complex relational database queries

Experience in statistical analysis, data mining, and data cleansing / transformation.

Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
