Job Specific Information:
- This position is in a group that is responsible for technical accounting and oversight, along with accounting for corporate development activities (M&A).
- Accounting from due diligence to accounting for the purchase in conjunction with Corporate Development for acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments and strategic alliances.
- Monitoring (Corporate oversight) of accounting around the globe.
- Month-end close coordination and quarterly reporting for a FedEx operating company.
Job Description Summary: - To compile, analyze and prepare financial and statistical information in support of accounting and financial analysis of FedEx companies, including consolidated reporting and/or reporting in compliance with SEC rules and regulations.
- To provide interpretation and support to users of financial statements.
- To support the design and enhancement of financial reporting systems.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in accounting or finance.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience in financial reporting and analysis in a large public accounting firm or complex accounting environment of a for-profit company, including experience using automated financial systems.
- Experience in SEC or other regulatory agency reporting or financial systems design may be required for some positions.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communications skills required.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:- Initiative to seek out opportunities for improvement and support a continuous process improvement culture.
- Effectively communicates ideas and results to all levels of the organization, including executive management.
- M&A accounting advisory.
- Experience in purchase accounting for business acquisitions.
- Experience with business and intangible valuations.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated application of US GAAP to complex transactions including documentation.
- Experience with SEC financial reporting.
- Internal financial reporting and month-end close process.
- Experience with international operations.
- Ability and willingness for occasional international travel.
- Proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English.
Domicile / Work Location:- Due to the collaborative nature of the role, this position will be located in Memphis, Tennessee. This location offers a hybrid work environment that supports in-person collaboration through onsite Team Days but allows team members flexibility to primarily work from home the rest of the time.
