Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Jackson, MI facility.
Position Overview:
Functionally responsible for monitoring and measuring supplier performance and ensuring robust root cause and corrective actions are implemented for supplier non-conformities leading to customer escapes, internal rework/rejection and scrap. Develops process improvements and cost control programs throughout the plant. Reviews customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements. Provides technical support to operations and suppliers as needed. Communicates supplier escapes and implemented corrective actions at all levels of the organization. Effectively communicates Eaton/Customer requirements and expectations to suppliers to ensure compliance.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Complete Supplier Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
- Direct the disposition and analysis of returned material and internal non-conforming product. Insure that actions around top pareto items are identified and completed.
- Develop focus suppliers through implementation/improvement of APQP tools (PFMEA, Process Flow Diagram, Control Plans, Process Capability Studies, Measurement Systems Analysis, etc.).
- Focus on internal & external supplier caused nonconformances to determine root cause and implement corrective action(s) to prevent future nonconformances.
- Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards. Ensure these documents align with the recognized Aerospace Quality System Standard as well as Eaton Objectives, Policies and Procedures.
- Deploy Eaton Business System tools, where appropriate or required, to improve Quality Management System effectiveness (i.e. EQMS, ELSS, WISPER, QLI/QBP, etc.).
- Communicate quality issues to front line leaders, factory personnel, and supply base. Lead root cause and permanent corrective action documentation.
- Assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
- Lead supplier audits to verify corrective actions or supplier internal quality systems.
- Provide technical support to both internal and external suppliers as needed.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of engineering or manufacturing experience
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- Relocation benefits are available for those within the United States willing to relocate to Jackson, MI. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in mechanical, industrial, or aerospace engineering
- 1-3 years of experience in a quality engineering role
- Knowledge of assembly operations, gauging, SPC, APQP, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100)
- Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (MOQ/OE) is preferred
- Knowledge of standard manufacturing process, metal forming, assembly/test in an Aerospace environment preferred
