Job Designation
The Inventory Lead verifies and maintains records on routine incoming and outgoing shipments. Ships and receives merchandise or material and arranges the transportation of goods, while following policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Supports Inventory and materials Management Team with coordinating activities for storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory. Assist the department with administration assignments, while conducting a variety of duties towards meeting the team's goals and business objectives as well as following all policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Job Core Responsibilities
- Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of material through the production cycle, following company instructions
- Determines material requirements from engineering and production schedules
- Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering
- Develops specifications for new contract orders
- Places purchase orders for the supply of products and plans materials that are required to meet the order book
- Monitors and coordinates all asset tracking, purchasing, and inventory control
- Maintains inventory records in accordance with established systems and control procedures
- Managing inventory in freezer warehouse(0 degrees)
- Maintains controls over various types of inventories(e.g., raw materials, subassemblies, finished goods)
- Conduct physical inventory counts and reconciles results with inventory records
- Communicates effectively through phone, e-mail, and correspondence, while maintaining a professional manner
- Coordinates and communicates with other departments to resolve and close actions
- Generates required documentation or reports and assists in tracking department performance towards goals and objectives
- Verifies and maintains records on incoming and outgoing materials
- Support shipments of return to vendors and subcontract materials
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications
Education : A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications : Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
Years Experience : 3 years or more of relevant experience depending on the complexity level of the job
Skills :
- Ability to work with general instructions and procedures on routine work
- Able to apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
- Ability to learn how to properly operate the walk behind lifts (electric pallet jack)
- Basic understating of inventory management tools such as FIFO, Cycle counting, Lot traceability
- Basic understating of measurement conversions (i.e sqft to liner ft, sq yards to yards, etc..)
- Strong prioritization skills, well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
- Ability to research and analyze data effectively
- Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
