As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for leading development and implementation of robust manufacturing processes, as well as the associated documentation, to ensure the successful launch of new and/or improved switchgear and transformer products and processes. She/He will collaborate with other functions and suppliers to facilitate efficient industrialization and to drive schedule performance while meeting safety, quality, and cost expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise product, plant and manufacturing engineering projects and initiatives with regard to feasibility, cost, and timeliness. Reviews project plans using project management techniques to ensure adherence to sound project management criteria.
- Maintains professional and ethical standards at all times. It is the responsibility of the employee to uphold the highest standards of ethical behavior in our day-to-day work decisions and actions.
- Participate in annual budget preparation and capital expenditures project planning and budgeting.
- Supervise the qualification of new products and raw material to be incorporated into manufacturing using PROLaunch as appropriate.
- Support development of accurate switchgear and transformer cost structure via supervision of bills of materials and routers and periodic audit of bills of materials and routers to ensure accuracy.
- Leads decision-making involving new and existing product lines to assess equipment/capacity needs.
- After ProLaunch for NPI, Lead the implementation of new product designs into the manufacturing environment, including manufacturing documentation (PFMEA, Control plan, Work instructions,SW&WI, Punclist), routing.
- Establishes and maintains an environment conducive to continuous improvement in manufacturing; recommends alternatives for improving production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Identifies and assesses new technology areas for development. Considers alternative approaches that might be required to adapt to changing technology or organizational demands.
- Driving cost out activities according to yearly cost out targets, continuously monitoring operational (labor and material costs) for related products / their lines.
- Monitoring periodically demand for related product lines and planning & driving new required activities such as line balancing, SMED, investments etc.
- Ensuring that the process is carried out by taking into account the continuous improvement / lean philosophy and EHS constraints in all in-line developments / studies.

Qualifications
Are you?
Required:
- BSC, MSC, Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer and related disciplines.
- 1 - 4 Years’ experience.
- Working knowledge of production tooling and assembly fixtures.
- Technical knowledge of electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
- Fluent in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of part/assembly drawings and bills of materials.
- Experience in new product development and industrialization.
- Experience with design of production tooling and assembly/test fixture development.
- Demonstrated ability to develop production layouts and process work instructions.
- Working knowledge of basic quality tools, such as, capability studies and gage R&Rs.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, VA/VE, and LEAN manufacturing tools.
- Experience with shop floor control processes and technology (barcoding, product/process traceability).
- Working knowledge of core feeder processes (molding, stamping, turning, machining, brazing/welding).
- PDM-Creo-Enovio / Model manager (CAD).
- Knowledge in ERP Systems SAP.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques – i.e., value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.
- Understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis.
- Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001 etc.).
- Proficiency in MiniTab; knowledge of Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing.
- Experience in the Assembly and testing of complex electromechanical products .
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and specifications
