With backing from prominent investors, we're poised to revolutionize the Canadian airline industry.</p> <p>Join our team and be part of the changing skies of Canadian aviation!</p> <p><u><strong>WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS:</strong></u></p> <p>The Operations Duty Manager is responsible for the integrity of the planned schedule to deliver excellent customer service through the management of aircraft, customer support, and crew resources to achieve a safe, efficient, reliable, and compliant operation. During times of disruption, this role ensures the return to the scheduled operating plan as soon as practical. This position reports directly to the Manager, OCC.<br /><br />The ODM is responsible for coordinating with operational groups, incorporating their input in decision-making, and effectively communicating decisions to the OCC teams and external stakeholders when required.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage the safe, on-time&nbsp;airline performance within the day-of operational window by considering all operational factors including flight crew resources, weather, air traffic control, airport restrictions, fleet planning, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, route restrictions, passenger recovery, and passenger experience</li> <li>Consult and collaborate with OCC teams to make the best operational decisions and communicate operational decisions to the applicable OCC groups</li> <li>Communicate key information to Flight Dispatch including AOG Aircraft and tail swaps</li> <li>Develop and manage IROP contingencies with input from Flight Dispatch, Crew Scheduling, Maintenance, Load Planning, and Operations Coordinators</li> <li>Support previous day operational metric reviews and Daily Operational calls</li> <li>Mitigate APPR impacts on the operation</li> <li>Create and implement IROP recovery plans</li> <li>Consult with Airport Support Desk regarding local airport constraints and IROP recovery capabilities</li> <li>Escalate performance management concerns to leadership teams as appropriate</li> <li>Maintain oversight and be the formal decision maker for operational requirements for aircraft routing (tail swaps) and guest holds</li> <li>Build extra sections in iFlight (Day of Ops software) as required</li> <li>Support the Emergency Response Process and begin response actions until relieved</li> <li>Manage the on-the-shift performance of a cross-functional OCC group to include Operations, Crew Scheduling, and Airport Support Desk (indirect reports). Create and promote a pro-active working environment in which safety and customer service are of the utmost importance</li> <li>On-the-day direct responsibility for the leadership and decisions making oversight of the functional operational teams</li> <li>Co-ordinates projects and tasks on behalf of the Manager OCC, such as scheduling and payroll for team members</li> <li>Project management/development e.g. service partner relationship management, business continuity, staff recruitment, support implementation/introduction of new processes and systems</li> <li>Other duties as assigned by the Director, OCC</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Minimum 2 years of airline operations / OCC experience in a complex and dynamic airline environment required</li> <li>Experience with Flight Operations Software (iFlight/AIMS/Sabre etc) and other OCC software (Load Planning/EFB/Flight Planning etc)</li> <li>Experience with crew scheduling/planning</li> <li>Commercial operational experience within an OCC is an asset</li> <li>Experience in a Flight Dispatch role or related training is an asset</li> <li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organization, and communications skills (written and verbal)</li> <li>A high degree of motivation and commitment to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and changing environment</li> <li>Previous leadership experience with strong facilitation and mentoring skills is required</li> <li>Ability to proactively identify problems, issues, opportunities, and solutions&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to deal with stressful situations using diplomacy</li> <li>Able to work under minimal supervision</li> <li>Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and MS Outlook</li> <li>Must be capable of working independently and as part of a team</li> <li>Must be available to work shift work including overnights, weekends and holidays</li> </ul> <p><u><strong>WHAT YOU WILL GET FROM US:</strong></u></p> <ul> <li>Industry competitive salary</li> <li>The chance to be part of building something from the ground up.
