The Cargo Business Optimization Analyst is responsible to support and assist with the implementation of strategic, operational, and organizational opportunities.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

Provide support and oversight of the projects and achievement of branch and corporate goals

Assist with transformational initiatives that drive growth or promote scalability, as well as reduce costs to ensure greater profitability.

Support branch strategies that involve developing a culture of improvement and challenging the status quo while ensuring quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met using employee and consumer insight and sustainable execution business framework

Develop and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and SMEs to provide best practices

Participate in data-gathering sessions in identifying non-value-added processes

Support the development of process measures, process tools, and Key Performance Indicators and ensure they are achievable on each project.

Assist in driving a culture of positive change towards adaptation of best practices at Air Canada Cargo capabilities.

Support the transition of projects and improvements from development to functional implementation and ownership.

Work collaboratively with key departments to analyze current business processes, identify efficiencies Interface with key stakeholders and identify opportunities for value;

Work with internal cargo department and cross-functional departments to analyze and understand business processes, to obtain and validate data needed for analysis

Model, analyze and compare various scenarios using optimization or simulation tools
Qualifications
-
Undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Operations Management/Supply Chain Management/Distribution and logistics/Finance/Accounting), Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or a closely related field is a requirement

Solid analytical skills

Ability to learn simulation software/applications and other applications

Strong quantitative problem solver with experience analyzing large sets of data and reporting Well-developed Microsoft Excel skills

Self-starter, energetic with strong sense of initiative and creativity

Aptitude to deal with ambiguity and competing priorities Excellent communication skills, oral and written

Good Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment Willingness to travel as necessary
