The selected hire will collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Reporting team members to address technical accounting issues, implement best practices and process improvements, and address routine accounting questions. This hire will also work closely with CFO, Controller, Treasurer, actuaries, auditors, total rewards team, legal counsel, and global financial managers to coordinate and forecast the Company’s worldwide employee defined benefit plans.
This position is hybrid with the expectation that the selected hire will work 60% of the work week in-office from our Corporate Headquarters in Cleveland, OH.
Responsibilities
Responsibilites
Technical Accounting:
- Monitor activities of regulatory bodies and ensure continuing compliance with changing requirements.
- Represent Corporate Accounting and Reporting on committees to review, implement or reorganize benefit plans.
- Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Reporting team members and other global Company personnel to address complex business transactions, including the impact of such transactions on employee benefit and post-retirement benefit plans.
External Reporting:
- Play an integral role in the preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, etc.) by completing employee benefit plan related disclosures.
- Lead the preparation of financial statements and related SEC filings for all US defined benefit plans.
Benefits Accounting:
- Coordinate worldwide actuarial services for defined benefit plans in accordance with US GAAP.
- Responsible for coordination and ensuring the completion of audits of financial statements for US benefit plans.
- Lead the year-end process for recording and reconciling amounts to final actuarial calculations for global consolidated results.
- Lead the journal entry and reconciliation process for domestic and international benefit accounts.
- Implement best practices and utilize technology to drive process improvement and efficiencies in the benefit plan processes.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related business field
- Minimum five years of related experience
- Knowledge of US GAAP and benefits accounting rules and regulations.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of personal computers, Microsoft applications and financial systems.
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects in a timely manner.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree
- CPA designation
