Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
With very limited supervision, this individual is responsible for:
- Defining the product roadmap and executing on features of service for data-driven products, with ownership of the entire process from ideation through product delivery and management
- Displays a high level of user empathy, passionate about solving problems in the context of delivering a superior user experience. Fearless to hold users/stakeholders accountable through the development and adoption journey
- Communicating effectively amongst product stakeholders, with the ability to articulate ideas in all forms of communication with exceptional storytelling.
- Leading cross-functional teams, including customer research and design, engineering, data scientists, and commercial teams, to deliver an exceptional customer experience backed by robust product capabilities
- Facilitating platform-thinking across the portfolio of products, including aligning roadmap to strategic initiatives, and identifying opportunities for collaboration across products
- Fostering an entrepreneurial spirit while leveraging the power of a global organization, allowing you to execute large, complex new- product development initiatives and other marketing/enterprise programs across large, cross- functional work teams
- Actively coaches and mentors’ others in less senior positions, fostering leadership at every level of the organization.
During a week on the job the successful candidate may perform the following activities:- Present a product update to leadership at the Officer and Executive level which effectively ties in the user experience as well as the value to both the enterprise and our customer
- Engage team members from research, partner strategy, operations, sales, support, engineering and/or data science to advance the development of a payment product roadmap
- Play a leading role in a strategic conversation, centered around our payment products, with a major retailer or brand that includes their supply chain and/or e-commerce decision makers
- Develop a compelling request for incremental support from our engineering, design, and/or architecture business partners
- Provide an alternative perspective to leadership, with a well-researched and compelling storyline, about a product's fit within the broader portfolio
- Coordinate with engineering teams, and actively participate in a demo session, to track progress
- Collaborate with product management peers on an ad hoc strategic request
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Considered a Plus:- Knowledge of and passion for the digital landscape, including market dynamics and advancements driving consumer expectations and business needs in retail/commerce.
- Product Management experience building large-scale, technology capabilities with experience on platform products.
- Post purchase ecommerce experience or ecommerce returns experience is a plus.
- Track record of outstanding performance and demonstrated leadership.
- High level of positive energy, enthusiasm, and self-motivation.
- Creative thinker with strong ""storytelling"" skills to be able to ideate new concepts particularly around how data and external partnerships can extend innovative services to new customers and markets.
- Strong critical thinking and strategic thinking abilities (being able to look at the big picture and get into details).
- Experience and comfort presenting complex concepts to stakeholders, including executive leadership, with success.
- Proven ability to lead with minimal direction on projects where little institutional knowledge exists and ability to thrive in demanding and relatively unstructured environments.
- Demonstrated ability to network with peers and all levels of management and to collaborate cross functionally across the corporation
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in Product Marketing, Economics, Business, or related field. Five (5) years’ work experience in functions focused on product management, market analysis or research, or equivalent. Superior knowledge of competitive, market and economic factors affecting product performance and ability to perform fact based data analysis. Expert communication and presentation skills, quantitative, problem structuring & solving skills. Superior executive presence, human relations, networking and influencing skills. Strong project management and project management leadership experience. A directly related Master’s Degree is equivalent to two (2) years experience. More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.
