Summary
This is a hands-on technical software engineering position on the Networking and Infrastructure (NI) team. Software engineer will assist in the design and support of advanced cloud network solutions. Responsibilities include collaboration on design and development of cyber-secure cloud infrastructures and managing off-premise computational resources. Excellent opportunity to learn advanced concepts from and work with senior level engineers who are pioneering novel solutions in the field of cloud computing.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Support the development of open architectures and applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms to ensure they are best suited for Cloud deployment and consumption.
- Support the adoption of Cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as DevSecOps, Big Data/Analytics, AI, Micro-Services.
- Support the architecture, design, development, troubleshoot, and implementation of cloud solutions
- Work closely with the Cyber Security team to ensure the applications and solutions designed and deployed are secure and compliant.
- Approach problems with curiosity, see things from different angles, and offer workable solutions that meet or exceed customer needs.
- Report status on tasks and assignments.
- Must be able to perform effectively as part of a project "team".
- Generate preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs with guidance from senior engineers, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills.
- Travel as needed to maintain existing solutions at customer sites. (up to 25% Travel)
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in technical field such as CS, CE, SWE
- Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
- Must understand basic networking and have a desire to learn more.
- Candidate should be self-motivated and possess the ability to collaborate effectively with teams to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
- Candidate should be a self-starter with strong organization skills.
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Preferred Skills
- Network, operating system, and virtualization experience
- Experience with high order software languages such as C, C++, Java, Python
- Experience with container management technologies like OpenShift, AKS, EKS, Rancher, Docker
- Experience using a source code repository such as Git, BitBucket, Mercurial, or Subversion
- Experience using a defect management system such as Jira, Bugzilla or Fogbugz
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Ability to perform technical briefings to various groups and engineers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well refined troubleshooting skills, ability to determine the root cause of a problem and identify and resolve systemic problems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Experience using and deploying RDMS, NoSQL, or Graph databases
- Experience working with service-based architectures and Web APIs
- Experience with HTML, HTML5, CSS, XML, XSLT, and JSON.
- Experience with administration of CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Experience with writing Linux bash scripts
- Experience with one or more of the following: Terraform, Cloud Formation, Microsoft Bicep
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This role requires the ability to travel to customer sites for testing events.
Physical Demands
This role requires the ability to maneuver body in/out of cockpits that contain sensitive equipment.
