As the Welder for Rolls-Royce, you will be responsible for performing grinding, cleaning, scraping, and burring operations for all components or assemblies and fabrications as required. You will also have the opportunity to perform field service repairs in offsite shipyards working independently. Ensuring all safe working procedures are maintained in a clean & organized work area including performance of established 5/S duties.

Set up welding machines and perform a full variety of welding operations using GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW, consumable electrode with inert gas, automatic consumable electrode with inert gas, arc welding, and propylene cutting on a wide variety of components.
Brazing, Carbon arc gouging and Plasma burning operations
Fit to assemble parts to facilitate welding using standard welding and assembly practices
Ability to perform all associated chipping grinding operations as required
Ability to perform identified Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities as required
Must be able to lift various items weighing up to 50 lbs.
High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years’ experience in welding
Certification from a technical school for Welding
Working knowledge of all welding shop practices as well as electrical/electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulics applications
Knowledge of machine shop practices including drilling, reaming, tapping, Bridgeport and small lathe turning operations Ability to read and understand blueprints and follow written welding procedures
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship
American Welding Society certified
Knowledge of MIL-STD-2035 Non-destructive Testing
Demonstrable ability to become certified to weld in all established bronze procedures, as well as the following areas; steel & bronze structural welding, P-1 pipe, tubing, steel forging, NiAlBrz on steel
Ability to operate and safely use overhead cranes and jib cranes along with material handling equipment, such as fork trucks, stackers, and pallet handling equipment.
