We have an excellent opportunity in our Military - System Engineering, Survivability Discipline Group. We are looking for an entry level research engineer to be based in East Hartford, CT.

The successful candidate will be collaborating across several technical disciplines within our survivability engineering group.
Selected candidate will be eligible to participate in the PW Engineering Development Program (EDP) and is expected to complete 3 rotations to explore other PW engineering disciplines within or outside homeroom group. Each rotation can last from 8 to 12 months.
Travel up to 10%.
Key Responsibilities
- Support technical work in Infrared, Radar Cross Section, Vulnerability, and or Operational Analysis/Mission Engineering
- Support key military programs
- Conduct analysis/simulations
- Conduct engineering tests
- Create technical reports/presentations
- Support part level production/manufacturing
- Extract meaningful technical conclusions, recommendations, and key results from technical activities
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or System Engineering
- US citizenship required due to government contracts
- Position requires candidate to be able to obtain and or have an active DoD Security Clearance at Secret Level or Higher
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Fluent in English (verbal/written)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills (verbal/written)
- Ability to create technical documentation (Reports/Presentations)
- Collaborate with other team members
- Some ability to present technical information
- Familiarization with Microsoft Office 365 tools
- Background in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or system engineering
- Experience with common CAD software packages (SW, NX, Rhinoceros 3D)
- Use of common FEA/CFD tools
- Programming in Python/C++, lab testing, system engineering, and or familiarization with modern day turbine engines would be a plus
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
By becoming a member of the Pratt & Whitney Engineering Development Program (EDP), you will receive hands-on training to help you build your career in aerospace. This accelerated program will provide you an opportunity for professional growth as a college new hire and train you to be a future leader of the organization. College undergraduate and graduate hires are allowed to complete three to four assignments to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program. These rotations are complimented by discipline-specific training that will accelerate the development of EDP participants.
