Position Title: Senior Analyst Safety Business Intelligence
Position Summary
The Senior Analyst Safety Business Intelligence supports the Safety Department and is the main point of contact and SME for the organization on matters relating to the safety database and technology. The Senior Analyst manages the Safety software and supports management of Safety intranet sites and live dashboards. The Senior Analyst also monitors and identifies data for analysis that is of a systemic nature and/or spread across more than one functional area organizationally and is beyond the day-to-day operational data. Finally, the Senior Analyst coordinates with JetBlue business partners to ensure and promote continuous development of software functionality and usability and to troubleshoot errors.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the Safety software platform
- Manage (monitors, updates, maintains, develops) the safety event management, analysis and distribution system
- Work with IT to develop and maintain safety data systems
- Integrates information from other operating areas using Business Intelligence platform
- Build and maintain new data sources and data streams in Data warehouse
- Conduct Safety Analytics by creating reports, dashboards, statistical analysis using BI tools
- Play pivotal role in migration and implementation project for new SMS system
- Works closely with department leadership and team members to identify areas of safety and security hazards in operations
- Leads development and implementation of technological solutions for the collection, analysis, reporting, and integration of safety, security, and compliance data
- Perform, review and manages (monitors, updates, maintains, develops) the Safety event management, analysis and distribution system as necessary
- Ensure adherence to all Safety and Security regulations
- Ability to work effectively with professionals from diverse technical areas
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Act as a liaison with JetBlue IT teams and external business partners to resolve software problems and ensure the successful execution of safety data systems
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in aviation management, aviation safety, or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience
- Three (3) years relevant work experience with emphasis on aviation management, statistical analysis, and/or project management
- One (1) year of experience with database programming
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to quickly learn new software through training and self-study
- Available for occasional overnight travel (25%)
- Valid Passport or equivalent travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required.
Preferred Experience And Qualifications
- Master’s degree in aviation management, aviation safety or 3-5 years working experience at an airline, airport, or other aviation-related organization
- Experience working with SMS, Safety data and processes
- Strong Business analysis and interpersonal skills
- Experience with system implementation, admin and DBMS programming languages (SQL, Oracle, etc.)
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing concepts and tools (Snowflake, Tableau etc.)
- Experience with statistical programming (R, Python, SAS, etc.),
- Proficiency with descriptive statistics & applied research methods.
- Working knowledge of regulations and industry trends governing commercial aviation safety, security, environmental, and employee health and safety
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
- Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

- Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $64,000.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
