Position Summary
The Flight Dispatcher plans for the safe and efficient operation of each JetBlue flight in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Company guidelines. The Dispatcher specifies and communicates conditions such as fuel required, alternate airports and any aircraft restrictions. The Dispatcher formulates operating plans and communicates them to the System Operations team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Flight planning for safe and efficient routes of flight, including fuel requirements, alternate airports, and aircraft restrictions
- Brief Captains on potential hazards, delays, runway construction, and curfews
- Ensure takeoff and landing parameters are met
- En route flight following until completion of flight
- Proactively prepares for and manages irregular operations
- Ensure compliance with all requirements of Federal Air Regulations and Company procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience And Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
- Two (2) years of Aviation experience
- Exceptional communication skills with complete fluency in written and spoken English
- Maintain FAA required Dispatch duties including cockpit exposure
- Strong analytical abilities and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and focused with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to think critically and to work under pressure in a team environment
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Strong attention to detail
- Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Two (2) years Dispatch experience
- Two (2) years JetBlue SOC experience
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance.
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Upholding JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Work Environment:
- Flexible hours/shift work required to cover operation twenty four (24) hours a day and seven (7) days a week
Physical Effort:
- Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)
Compensation:
- The starting base pay for this role is $69,770. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
