Description:
L3Harris' Space and Airborne Systems segment seeks a EEE Parts Component Engineering Intern to join our growing team. The person in this position will be responsible for supporting our Palm Bay, FL location in the development of complex space payloads and communication devices. This includes all phases of product development from advanced research and development through design and on to production support and on-orbit anomaly resolution. Tasks will include the support of development of component requirements, parts selection, addressing obsolescence issues and working closely with Design, Supply Chain, Quality, Space Environments, and Reliability.
Essential Functions:
- Support development of requirements and qualification test plans, thru customer approval, for non-standard Parts, and Processes (i.e. PARs, PMPCB approval).
- Support EEE component selection and requirements for advanced development and technologies.
- Assist with development of EEE part specifications (e.g. SCD’s, PID’s)
- Assist design engineering in selecting appropriate EEE parts based on mission requirements
- Support resolution of supplier issues in cooperation with quality and supply chain. • Provide support to subcontractors for all PMP concerns
- Perform BOM grading and address obsolescence with forward looking plans and mitigation.
- Work closely with Materials & Process, Reliability and Space Environments personnel to assure mission success.
- Comfortable presenting plans and results to peers
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge and/or experience with the design, construction, and testing of electronic components
- Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills
- Knowledge of and/or understanding circuit analysis and operational concepts
- Experience in aerospace and/or space environments
- Experience in reliability developing FMEAs, ESA’s, etc.
- Knowledge/use of Microsoft Office Applications
