About the team you are joining
The
Adviser Legal Services (ALS) is an experienced legal professional responsible
for providing legal advice, support, and research on diverse subject areas to
support IATA’s business activities, both internally and externally and the work
of the GCCS Advocacy Legal Workstream. The ALS reports to the
Director Legal Services.
What your day would be like
Provides legal advice on diverse substantive and procedural questions of considerable complexity, which may include those related to international air law, administrative law, litigation, dispute resolution, procurement and contracts, corporate compliance and human resources at times independently and in some circumstances depending on the subject matter and complexity under the oversight of the Director Legal Services and other senior team members.
Prepares legal opinions, memoranda and information papers on questions concerning the interpretation or application of law, legal instruments, or legal principles in relation to IATA’s or airline member activities across multiple jurisdictions
Drafts appropriate responses to correspondence and communication raising
legal issues or having legal implications.
Drafts and advises on agreements, contracts, instruments, governance documents, and policies in the context of IATA's business activities
We would love to hear from you if
You hold an advanced University degree in law, (LLB, JD, LLM) from an
internationally recognized university,
Are admitted to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction,
Have
a minimum of five years post qualification experience in an organization, government
department or law firm.
Knowledge, Skills and interest in aviation law , public law and international
law
Legal professional client relationship skills.
Excellent command of English.
Superior written and oral communication skills.
And are an effective, confident communicator and team player.
