Responsible for completion of engineering activities in clutch product development team in any of the following areas: simulation, modelling, design, development, testing, manufacturing, failure analysis, problem solving. Interfaces with other engineering personnel for product improvement, cost reduction, and other issues as needed.
Job responsibilities:
- Has good mechanical engineering background (education) enabling him/her to learn, understand and apply knowledge to the development of power transfer devices in the vehicle driveline.
- Has a good understanding of vehicle and driveline architectures, and understands the principles of ICE.
- Has some experience in developing driveline components, in at least one of the phases: concept, design and development, validation testing, and industrialization.
- Supports the development of CPT products, their manufacturing processes, and product applications. Applies lessons learned from current products.
- Maintains timely and effective communication with supervisors and peers through various channels: direct and virtual meetings, electronic communication means (e-mails, phones, e-platforms), engineering reports, presentations, and others.
- Is responsible (accountable) for the preparation of deliverables on various engineering projects e.g., new customer development programs, industrialization programs, cost-out projects, etc.
- Provides support to Design, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams on development work. Meets assigned goals.
- Continues familiarization with design, development, and failure analysis using predictive tools, simulations, modeling, or by analysis of customer returns, market data, and specific development projects.
- Works closely with peers and subject matter experts to increase functional knowledge and skills.
- Interfaces with appropriate support departments, such as Centers of Excellence in NVH, Simulation, design, testing, and fabrication.
- Performs or supports analysis of designs and problems, reports results in a summarized format, and provides recommended actions.
- Responds to indirect or direct customer inquiries regarding function and design. Analyzes new applications to optimize performance and packaging for customer applications.
- Complies with requirements of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems. Follows Engineering standards and practices (internal and external).
- Provides engineering recommendations on design deviations for manufactured and purchased components. Supports sourcing team in approving new suppliers.
- Provides guidance and assistance to other departments regarding product knowledge. Works with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Sales, and Suppliers to drive cost and quality improvements.
- Analyzes customer returns, diagnoses existing and potential problems, and formulates cost-effective solutions. Solves production, development, and field problems.
- Understands basic principles of at least a few Six Sigma for Design and Development (SSDD) tools: QFD, VAVE, FMEA, DOE, 8D/FRACAS, Statistical Reliability Modelling for Reliability Prediction, DFM, DFA, P-diagrams, Boundary-Diagrams, Functional-Diagrams, etc.
- Establishes or reviews tolerances on dimensions and specifications that balance quality, reliability, manufacturability, and durability at a low cost.
- Learns and uses CAD systems and other Engineering systems to do basic design changes himself/herself.

- At least Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in automotive / mechanical engineering / design engineering.
- Experience in Engineering/Design - CAD & 3D Modelling/Vehicle driveline architecture.
- English proficiency in writting and speaking.
- Communication, problem - solving and time management skills.
