Synopsis
Chief Flight Instructor is responsible for the supervision of flight simulation training instructors and for the standardisation of the delivery of all flight instruction and flight simulation instruction for the Approved Training Organizations ATO.
Accountabilities
- Standardisation of all instructors reporting to him/her and the provision of instructor briefing materials related to flight and flight simulation training.
- Ensure sufficient qualified personnel for the training is available
- The CFI shall be responsible for ensuring that suitable arrangements are in place for the signing of all course completion certificates for any courses offered by EAT by both the HT and the CFI.
- Qualify standardisation instructors
- Supervise daily simulator operations
- Attend required department meetings
- Perform duties and supervision of external Flight Training
Education & Experience
- Secondary school (A-Level or equivalent) certificate
- Hold a current GCAA CPL/IR or ATPL with FI privileges, or ICAO equivalent acceptable for reciprocal recognition by the GCAA
- Meet other applicable GCAA regulatory requirements as outlined in CAR-FCL and CAR-ORA relating to the specified position
- Hold the following flying-related qualifications:
- Class 1 medical
- ELP level 5 or better
- Minimum 3 years in the aviation industry as a pilot/flight instructor
- Minimum 2000 hours flying experience including 1000 hours as PIC
- Minimum recent experience (at date of appointment):
- Must have provided Instruction within the past 3 years
- Minimum 1000 hours as Instructor (A)
- Minimum 500 hours multi-engine (A)
