Role Summary/Purpose:

This role requires collaborating within a highly diverse technical team and directly interfacing with the business facing team and product managers to develop a technology strategy aligned with emerging market opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities:
More specifically, the individual will:
Collaborate directly with diverse technical teams, business teams, and product managers to co-develop a strategy that facilitates the transition of new technology into the Avionics product portfolio.
Provide technical leadership and develop innovative solutions that enable sensing, high-throughput processing, and AI on advanced edge devices.
Support early-stage pursuit and capture strategies including customer engagement, defining/shaping requirements, proposal writing, and writing white papers.
Provide technical guidance, leadership, mentorship, and motivation to less experienced engineers.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and engineers to provide complete and holistic solutions to unique and dynamic customer requirements.
Work as part of a dynamic team responsible for capturing requirements, developing, and testing complex edge compute platforms with custom embedded software applications.
Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and professionalism that leads to team accountability and improved performance.
Partner with key stakeholders across the Avionics organization to align market opportunities with product roadmaps and pursuit strategies.
Seek opportunities for cross product line collaboration.
Lead the development of architecting advanced edge compute platforms that differentiate EW from competitors.
Define technical scope, provide clear technical direction to team, and successfully lead technical execution of research and development programs within schedule and budget constraints.
Maintain a mindset of continuous learning, and be open to changing technical approaches as state-of-the-art (SOA) technologies evolve.
Develop transition plans such that new technologies developed have a clear path towards successfully fulfilling mission requirements and a continued plan for maturity and productization.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelorās degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in hardware design and systems architecture.
Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills tailored to broad variety of audiences.
Experience developing requirements, schematic capture, layout, and production of avionics and/or mission systems components.
Ability to acquire requirements from key stakeholders and integrate them into system architectures.
The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Desired Characteristics:
Masterās degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business Administration from an accredited university or college.
Active U.S. Security Clearance.
Strategic experience working through early-stage pursuits and customer engagement.
Experience in designing heterogenous compute platforms for high-throughput applications.
Experience in designing low size, weight, and power (SWaP) and low latency compute platforms.
Ability to utilize lab and test equipment to verify hardware designs (signal generators, oscilloscopes, etc.).
Experience in the areas of sensing, signal processing, AI, and ML.
Experience with circuit simulation software (SPICE, LTSPICE, etc.).
Experience designing RF circuitry.
Experience in systems engineering and trade studies.
Experience in designing cyber-resilient system architectures.
Experience in project leadership and execution.
Experience working with U.S. Government Sponsors.
Experience working on research and development programs and developing rapid-reaction prototypes.
Demonstrated capability to constructively partner and drive alignment across matrixed organization.
Knowledge of avionics interfaces, military standards, and open architecture standards.
Experience designing ruggedized systems for extreme environments (vibration, thermal, etc.).
