STRUCTURAL ENGINEER, PRODUCTION INFRASTRUCTURE (STARSHIP)
As a member of the Starship Production Infrastructure team, you will work with engineers across multiple disciplines in the design, procurement, and build of the civil/structural scope of Starship production infrastructure. This position is based out of Brownsville, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the full delivery of structural infrastructure, including design, procurement and contracting, fabrication, and construction
- Perform structural analysis and design for foundations, structures, and buildings in support of manufacturing facilities
- Create structural design drawings, calculations, and design summary presentations
- Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and project cost control reports.
- Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors for structural scope
- Manage multi-discipline design and construction projects
- Interact with other engineers, contractors, fabricators, and internal project stakeholders
- Provide direct onsite field management and resolve field conflicts in real time
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or other engineering discipline
- 2+ years of professional experience in civil and/or structural engineering
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of structural design/engineer experience with working knowledge in construction
- Professional Engineering (PE) or Structural Engineering (SE) license
- Knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) steel manual, American Concrete Institute (ACI) code 318, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7, and International Building Codes (IBC)
- Experience creating structural detail drawings in AutoCAD, Revit, NX, Solidworks or similar drafting programs
- Knowledge of ETABS, SAP2000, S-Concrete, ANSYS, FEMAP or similar analysis design programs
- Understanding of other disciplines, such as, mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, and surveying
- Experience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
