Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Training and Development, the Director of Training Administration is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic vision, and fiscal aspects of the Training Administration workgroups to include Training Scheduling, Training Records, Instructional Design, Training Facilities, and Technology Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the training scheduling function to include the planning, scheduling, and coordination of training events to include long range planning, short range scheduling, instructor and training rooms resource allocation, trainee travel arrangements, and the distribution of training materials
- Leads the training records function to include the management of both Operations and non-Operations training records and training compliance reporting, training records audit, and quality control
- Leads the instructional design function to include the development of multi-media content and the development and management of cross departmental courseware
- Leads the management of training facilities, and technology to include facilities management, technology vendor management, and the management of training delivery and data systems to include the learning management system and the electronic records and scheduling system
- Assists the Managing Director with the development of strategy and the road map for the Training Administration Team to include evaluating existing processes, tools, and resources with the expressed goal of increasing efficiency while adding value to the organization
- Responsible for improving processes and practices that create the most value within Training Administration and/or within Training and Development as a whole. Drive the Training Administration team to measure and continuously improve critical processes
- Other duties as assigned or directed
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in business or education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of experience in training / education administration, or similar environments, utilizing complex systems serving multiple departments or user groups.
- Experience working within a highly regulated or technical environment, such as an airline or similar industry
- Experience working with collective bargaining agreements
- Experienced in writing and presenting business cases, project management, financial analysis, and process improvement
- 5 years of managing multiple, diverse teams with a track record of growing leaders and independent thinkers
- Experience managing departmental budgets
- Highly detailed, organized, and efficient with outstanding group presentation and communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position. Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience, in training / education administration, or similar environments, utilizing complex systems serving multiple departments or user groups
- 8+ years of managing multiple, diverse teams with a track record of growing leaders and independent thinkers
- Experience with instructional design
- Experience with Pilot, Flight Attendant, or similar crew member training methodologies
- Six Sigma Certification or Experience
- Well-versed in technology solutions
- Highly enthusiastic, positive-minded, customer focused, service-oriented
- Self-starter requiring ability to work independently, driving personal and team priorities for success
- Preference for working collaboratively in a team environment
