Eatonâs Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Duncan, SC facility.
Position Overview:
The Lead Engineer is responsible for supporting the Magnum Circuit Breaker Assembly Process and plant leadership (Arecibo Plant, Puerto Rico / Spartanburg DC, South Carolina) in achieving business and financial goals by leading Safety, Operation, Quality, Continuous Improvement projects across the organization while developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes.

In this function you will:
- Identify, develop, and execute projects to increase productivity and drive cost out.
- Deploy CI, ELSS tools.
- Provide training and support to the equipment operators and technicians.
- Be responsible for executing sustained change management as it applies to product and processes within manufacturing operations.
- Provide input into the capital equipment selection process. Develop and evaluate Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR's) for new product or process programs and initiatives.
- Work on projects in conjunction with the Tech Center / Arecibo team value streams, develop project goals, budgets, and work breakdown structures.
- Promote and promulgate all MESH Process and Policies to all the employees under his/her supervisor and ensure that they are being performed at his/her area.
- Generate, review, update and develop Standard Work Instruction, Visual aids, and MIL's.
- Develop & update VSM for Currents, Future, and Ideal states.
- Work with the requirements established by Lean (Standard Work, Manning, Layout, VSM, Cross Training and 5S), EQS and MESH.
- Answer CQM (Customer Quality Management) in a timely manner (Take Containment, Corrective & Preventive actions, Root cause, actions plans, etc).
- Be responsible for keeping the calibration system up to date (Pneumatic tools of all Value-Added areas, Electrical Test Equipment). Schedule Preventive Maintenance events with the Maintenance team.
- Be responsible for fixing PCaT (TDM) Recipes or Configurations issues. Provide guidance to the technicians on testing errors or improvement opportunities and develop error proofing projects.

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelorâs degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Assembly / Manufacturing or Engineering
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Assembly / Manufacturing processes of circuit breakers (assembly process, electrical testing)
- Bilingual â English\Spanish with good oral and written communication skills
Position Criteria:
- Strong background in process improvements through automation, layout, line balance and new technology.
- Detailed knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques â i.e. value stream mapping, 5S, Standard work, Visual controls, Production daily metrics, Process checks, etc.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment, prioritize tasks, and creatively come up with solutions.
- Hands on ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment, following the Safety guidelines.
- Establish networking and interact with key persons/groups at all levels of the organization (including suppliers) whose assistance, cooperation, and support may be needed.
- Support internal/external audits including certification renewal (i.e. ISO 9001, MESH, etc).
- EHS practices, regulations, and procedures (ESW, LOTO, Machine Safeguarding).
- Proactive attitude towards problem solving and resolving issues that may affect plant/employeeâs health, safety, and operations.
- Proficiency in various software applications â i.e. Computer Aided Design (CAD), MS Office suite, MiniTab, VISIO, pCat, etc.
