Amazing opportunity on offer for a Principal Designer that will play an instrumental part in delivering and growing our design support capability at the Devonport dockyard.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for someone with a solid background in structural design that can share best practice and provide advice and guidance to other members of the team. As a subject matter expert, the principal designer will ensure design outputs are fit for purpose and ensure codes and standards are properly upheld.
What will you be doing?
• Lead and manage a team of designers
• Promote best practice culture
• Responsible for the allocation of tasks
• Working with various stakeholders regarding design reviews and design related issues
• Ensure integration and functionality of designs
• Support continuous improvement of processes and practices
The experience you’ll bring
• Solid structural engineering background / knowledge base
• Minimum HNC / HND in relevant engineering subject
• Experience of leading a technical design team preferred
• Need to have / or be able to obtain necessary level of security clearance
