As a Mechanisms Engineer, your responsibilities may include some of the following:
• Work under the direction of other mechanism engineers to research, design, analyze, and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for Lockheed Martin Space products.
• Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure.
• Develop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses necessary to support product build and testing activities.
• Generate and release drawings using CAD software.
• Be a member of multiple integrated product teams, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers.
• Represent the organization in design reviews, readiness reviews, and review boards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to supervise the build and test of the hardware in the production facility located next door to the engineering building.
Learn more about Lockheed Martin’s comprehensive benefits package.Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical modeling or analysis tools, such as Solidworks/CREO, Nastran, Thermal Desktop (or equivalent)
• Understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts
• Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance; US citizenship required
Desired Skills:• Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Fundamental understanding of structures, mechanisms and materials
• Prior experience with the design and/or test of mechanical systems
• Active security clearance
