The newly created Sensing & Safety Technologies (SST) is a $2B division within Honeywell formed by the combination of the former Advanced Sensing Technologies and Gas Analysis and Safety divisions. Primary verticals include Healthcare, Transportation (including Aerospace & Defense), Industrial Manufacturing, Logistics Sensing, Industrial Process and Safety, and Electrical and Fire Safety. The Sales Development Program Fellow is designed to take a recent college graduate and train him/her to become a successful sales professional in our highly technical business. This person will start in an Inside Sales Role learning the necessary skillset to be an effective salesperson. This will ultimately lead to an Outside Sales Role managing a territory within a specific team.
As the Inside Sales Representative, your most important role is to proactively sell to grow your territory’s business. Proactive selling is based upon effective account plan actions, remote sales visit preparation, and opportunity management. Daily activities will include lead management, lead qualification, account plan execution, remote sales visit preparation, collaboration with the outside sales teams, pipeline management, forecasting, qualification, and closing. Our expectation is that you will exceed your targets, take ownership of the success of the business, and learn how to be a more effective salesperson. These are technical products and the role will require you to research product information, recommend the best product for the customer’s application, and provide product quotes and lead times following internal consultation with design engineering, application engineering, product marketing and manufacturing, as necessary.
Upon “graduation,” you will be promoted to an Outside Sales position within the United States.
Please note that the required location for the initial Inside Sales Role is at one of our major SST facilities (Richardson, TX, or Charlotte, NC).
Upon promotion, the candidate must be willing to relocated anywhere within the USA per the needs of the business.
YOU MUST HAVE
WE VALUE
- Bachelors’ Degree in finance or in an engineering field, such as electrical or mechanical, is preferred
- Experience with a technology-based organization or technical sales experience
- Any previous sales experience
- Experience conducting cold calls to generate customer appointments
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales and activity quotas
- Demonstrated ability to influence at varying level across the organization
- Prior experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM software
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent customer relationship building skills
- Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural, global business environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to interface with a variety of roles to accomplish objectives
