Position Summary
Position Summary:
Responsible for developing and improving production processes for manufacturing operations consistent with team objectives. The Engineer Intern will be working 30-40 hours work weeks at Parker Hannifin’s Slater, MO facility.
Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
- Interacts with product engineering, manufacturing and quality functions.
- Reports to the team leader while providing technical direction in automation, plant layout, equipment, assembly, machining and other manufacturing concerns.
Essential Functions:
- Under the direction of the Team Leader, utilize judgment in performance of duties in conjunction with company policies, procedures, and processes.
- Analyze and organize production operations, routings, and sequences.
- Develop/improve documentation related to collecting and reporting daily production data.
- Investigate manufacturing difficulties and determine corrective procedures.
- Assist with various related engineering functions, e.g., automation, design, standardization of parts, costs reduction, energy reduction and quality control.
- Design assembly fixturing and assembly aides for secondary operations.
- Develop new/improved processes for manufactured products.
- Work on projects improving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
- Implement lean manufacturing ideas and principles on the production floor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Classified as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior in college credits and enrolled in a 4-year Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related degree.
- 0-1 year of experience preferred.
