Summary
The Head of Technical Service is responsible to lead and manage Technical Services Department, ensuring that strategic plans are implemented to deliver the set objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accountable for delivering an effective GSE maintenance regime, ensuring best practices are observed in the maintenance program. This to be delivered to a specific agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with other divisions / departments. Delivered through ensuring cost control of all spares and consumables using industry best-practice for outsourcing where appropriate
- On behalf of, and in consultation with other divisions / departments, research and recommend GSE fit for purpose. Furthermore, to understand and utilize the practice of fleet management
- Responsible for the overall management of the maintenance and repair work carried out in the GSE workshops, ensuring compliance with manufacturers recommendations / standards
- Maximize revenue opportunities through third party maintenance and repair opportunities
- Ensure the safety of staff, equipment, and facilities in accordance with corporate, local, and international standards. Promotion of a safety culture within department to continually raise awareness and motivate safe behaviors
- Ensure staff are trained to carry out their duties to the minimum requirements of Airport Operations. Maintain proficiencies through a program of refresher training and audit
- Represent Company as directed as a stakeholder at Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Changi Airport Group (CAG) consultative committees / meetings and with other external bodies. Develop and promote working relationships through internal and external communications
- Drive innovative solutions through team creativity and ensure a collaborative approach with other divisions / departments. To include the use of all mandated technological solutions
- Responsible for the management of the Fuel Station and the provision of a 24 hours service to users
- Develop and maintain own department continuity plans including dnata Crisis Management Plan, Business Continuity Plan and Evacuation Plan. Continual review and adjustment of the plan to accommodate change
- Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedures
Requirements
- Minimum Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution
- Preferably with working experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical systems and processes which are necessary for the competent maintenance of automatic and/or semi-automatic equipment
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a relevant discipline with 5 years of managerial experience
- Must possess strong skills in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) instrumentation and troubleshooting
