Job DescriptionThe primary role of the Manager, Fuel Supply Planning is to plan, negotiate and maintain a long-term reliable and competitive fuel supply network to meet customer demand while assisting with accurate, timely supply pricing. Lead responsibility for managing all supplier RFPs, strategic supply opportunities, and supplier agreements. In addition, assist with cost build-ups for General Aviation, Commercial, and DLA tender opportunities. Duties may also include management and reporting of physical risk exposure to achieve superior pricing on purchases and support hedge positions to ensure proper risk management and pricing objectives are met. Job ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supply Management
- Maintain an understanding of all customers' requirements for new and existing fuel supply and strive for continuous improvement in supply cost and availability.
- Aggressively pursue improvement on all long-term supply chain component costs, including identifying new sources of supply and creative/improved logistics.
- Manage RFPs and participate in negotiations to secure competitive supply agreements
- Become a preferred supplier-customer with accurate, trusting, and timely communications on market intel and contract volume management for existing and new fuel tenders, working closely with the Manager of Fuel Operations to forecast demand accuracy.
- Review new proposed contracts and contract renewals to ensure they align with EPIC's business needs and goals related to supply and inventory.
- Direct and coordinate with other contract reviewers within EPIC to ensure contract reviews are completed within schedule.
- Contract management for EPIC supply contracts with responsibility for keeping current contract data terms, including volumes, price, payment terms, and tenure with existing suppliers.
- Work closely with the Fuel Operations and Logistics Team to ensure we balance contract Supply vs. Physical Monthly needs.
- Attends local and national Supplier functions and meetings on behalf of the company as required.
- Ensures that current supply costs, including all fees, are updated in an Excel repository and EPIC's enterprise systems to enable accurate billing.
RFP / Bidding
- Works with Sales Leadership and Staff to ensure RFPs meet requirements for GA, Commercial, and DLA lines of business.
- Work closely with Fuel Operations and Logistics Team to evaluate multiple supply sources and logistics combinations to ensure competitive bids on all solicitations.
- Works with EPIC's DLA and commercial airline teams to track all EPIC bids and resulting customer feedback for continuous improvement and to ensure that EPIC is always competitively positioned.
- Aggregates volumes throughout each annual bid cycle to present EPIC's full volume to our suppliers.
- Actively participates in weekly RFP planning and execution sessions.
Other Duties
- Works with Fuel Operations to meet Sales team needs to respond to customer RFPs/Bids
- Grow and develop EPIC Fuels employees to build depth and capacity for the overall team.
- Create and build new tools to improve process efficiency and promote daily accountability.
- Assists with negotiation and execution of bulk spot trades required to balance positions vs. changing demand.
- Authorized trader to backup futures trade execution, as required.

Job Qualifications
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or five years related experience and/or training in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a detail-oriented position in a high financial/operational risk area
- Working knowledge of fuel supply chain/logistics
- Outstanding analytical thinking abilities
- Excellent research skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to understand and manage complex processes
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Working system knowledge of index pricing systems along with Transport for pipeline and terminal movement
- Ability to travel when needed.
