The primary responsibility of Principal Electrical Design Engineer â Technical Project Lead is to lead the HW design, development, test and qualification of IFEC LRU products. He/she is responsible to perform a subset of all the hardware-engineering activities required to develop a HW embedded solution/product. Activities to be executed within approved work scope, contractual delivery dates and budget. Responsible HW development process enrichment with lessons learned and traceability to process changes; 3rd party suppliers and contractors management. Key Responsibilities: Project management: Manages daily work and performance of the LRU HW Design Engineering Team; Participates in the electrical design, development and test activities and qualification of state-of-the-art embedded digital and analog high speed, mixed signal communication circuits; For the team, he/she schedules, co-ordinates and monitors the implementation of tasks. Participates in co-engineering activity with the PCB, Mechanical, SW and System engineering teams. Ensure that hardware-engineering aspects of projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner and will integrate efforts from various functional groups to accomplish goals; Conducts comprehensive electrical design reviews with engineering team and manufacturing partners to confirm that design parameters, cost and manufacturability requirements have been met; Writes the technical specifications, documents to make sure the product meets the customer, marketing, manufacturing and system design requirements; Work with Quality team to ensure quality systems and processes are in place to achieve hardware-engineering success; Participates in regular meetings with 3rd Parties / maintains action item lists; Lead as required sustaining engineering electrical investigations, process and documentation updates in collaboration with Thales industrial operations, product engineering and product support engineering teams and manufacturing partners. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline; 5 yearsâ experience in Electrical embedded hardware design for high speed digital and analog communications systems; Design knowledge in modern LCD, Touchscreen technologies for cell phones and tablets required; Experience in avionics electrical design, development, DO-160 qualification and documentation; Experience in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth embedded design. IP/Networking; Experience using schematic capture and layout viewer (ORCAD, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, PCAD, etc.); Experience using digital test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Emulators, Debuggers, etc.; Firsthand knowledge of Linux machine administration, Android, Perl scripting; Expertise in Product Data Management tools: Team Center (or similar); Advanced skills in Microsoft Office use: Excel, Project, Outlook, Word, Visio; PowerPoint; Leadership skills / Management skills / Personal skills: Ability to multitask in an environment requirement a high level of detail and accuracy, work independently and take ownership of all assigned tasks; Ability to work in a multicultural team with varied degrees of experience; Ability to track and follow-up on open issues and action items; Self-starter with the ability to work through ambiguity and evolving requirements; Good written and communication skills, effectively managing projects and working with global cross-functional team; Capable of presenting information to large group of peers and/or managers; Preferred Qualifications 7 yearsâ experience in Electrical embedded hardware design for high speed digital and analog communications systems; 5 yearsâ experience in leading electrical/HW engineering project team; 3 yearsâ experience with aerospace industries; Boeing, Airbus Line Fit qualification experience; Expertise with Touch screen technology and high volume manufacturing of laptop, tablets or cell phones. Travel and Schedule: Minimum travel and Possible Hybrid Work Schedule The anticipated salary range for this role is $115,150.00 - $213,850.00 USD Annual.
