Position Title: Accountant Staff Property Accounting
Position Summary
The accountant reports directly to the Supervisor, Property Accounting. Responsibilities include support for all aspects of Property Accounting, including fixed asset capitalization, bank reconciliations and other monthly property reconciliations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations, rent reconciliations, commitments schedules and various other monthly duties
- Work independently to network with capital project managers, to gather and summarize necessary data, and capitalize fixed assets within departmental timelines
- Analyze assigned capital projects to determine if they are in accordance with established policies and guidelines
- Prepare and review journal entries to facilitate the accurate and timely clearing of assigned projects
- Responsible for adding new assets to the fixed asset database and recording monthly depreciation to the general ledger
- Assist with variance analysis of depreciation expense, and respond to internal and external auditor requests
- Ensures internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks
- Recommend improvements to the efficiency of the accounting process and timeliness of deliverables
- Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects with minimal supervision, and other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience
- One (1) year of accounting experience
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills, and be detail-oriented
- Available for overnight travel (10%)
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience And Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA eligible
- SAP experience

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $58,500.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
