Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in month end general ledger close and preparation of journal entries.
  • Perform accounts payable duties including review and verification of invoices to ensure accuracy.  Also, entering invoices into our financial systems, scheduling payments to suppliers and creditors, and preparing reports according to established policies as required
  • Recognize and resolve invoicing/receiving discrepancies and errors
  • Assist in preparation of timely/accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Assist in internal audit of accounts to analyze, interpret, and ensure accuracy of account balances and activity
  • Perform assessments governed by Sarbanes-Oxley and ascertain whether company’s financial information is properly accounted for and report on the effectiveness of internal controls
  • Performing account analyses and reconciliations, including general ledger accounts, trend and utilization analysis, cost analysis and make recommendations based on findings
  • Prepare responses to internal and external requests for information, working closely with management and staff to assure timely accurate reporting
  • Identify and resolve accounting system issues, suggesting possible solutions
  • Suggest process improvements and guide changes as needed
  • Assist with the implementation of new internal controls and processes
  • Review, interpret and assist in implementation of company directives, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Work on special projects as required
 
Position Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of accounting methodologies and system
  • Strong business acumen and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work in an environment of continuous improvement and identify, analyze, and suggest process improvements
  • Detail orientated with the ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact well with people at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently
  • Able to determine priorities and appropriate level of escalation

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office, plus intermediate to expert Excel skills
