The
Manager, Executive Recruitment will work directly with Senior Leadership across all divisions at Delta to advise and support the growth of our greatest strength, our people. This person will lead, manage, inspire, coach, and motivate the Lead Executive Recruiter to deliver against recruiting goals and drive both short and long-term initiatives. The ideal candidate is an exceptional leader and has a strong commitment to the collective business and individual success of their team.
The Manager, Executive Recruitment personally helps to - and coaches their team to - align both talent and Delta’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies with hiring decisions, identify creative and varied sources of qualified talent, screen talent effectively, help hiring managers make trade-offs between quality of talent and speed of hire, and advise executive leadership regarding key skills or characteristics that matter most to selection.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
- Provide strategic and thought partnership to executive leadership including a deep understanding of our business and ecosystem and how external talent can inform our growth.
- Define, craft and implement leadership recruiting programs and search engagements for a variety of senior leadership roles. This includes understanding and mapping the talent landscape, internal calibration and referrals, and matching those data points with the external talent supply.
- Lead Recruitment efforts on officer level roles.
- Partnering with executives and Talent Acquisition Managers to determine the current and future executive Talent Acquisition needs, talent gaps, and identifying target talent pools
- Lead end-to-end leadership-level search engagements from inception of candidate contact to pre-hire onboarding, including research, engagement strategies, candidate experience, negotiations, and communicating status to all partners along the way.
- Conduct thoughtful and sophisticated candidate interviews that methodically surface a candidate’s full range of capabilities, explore their aspirations and gain penetrating insights into their readiness to perform in the targeted role, and assess how efficiently they would integrate into the organization.
- Cultivate trust-based relationships with candidates, gaining a close understanding of their requirements and concerns. Serve as a skilled problem solver, facilitator and coach in final negotiations.
- Gather and maintain accurate market, client, and candidate information to facilitate both the search process and our overarching market intelligence initiatives.
- Build and maintain competitor knowledge information and data that will provide Delta Talent Acquisition strategies with a competitive advantage to include:
- Keeping track of top talent across target organizations
- Challenging the status quo and influencing hiring decisions with Internal Mobility and Diverse Hiring Best Practices
- Performing in-depth research, industry calibration and keeping this information up to date
- Effectively identifying and partnering with external recruitment firms on targeted searches
- Communicating and collaborating with business partners and stakeholders across the company
- Following established talent acquisition processes and use of technologies (ATS, etc.) to ensure data accuracy.
- Working closely with the Manager of Talent Acquisition Development to create training content and build capability amongst the executive recruitment team
- Partnering with Talent Acquisition Recruitment Marketing team to differentiate Delta’s unique career possibilities, advantages, and rewards and leverage a consistent, compelling message that conveys the most significant motivators to prospective candidates.
- Advising the Talent Acquisition Assessment Program Leader on opportunities for improvement and creation of assessment materials by identifying relevant competencies and job criteria; identifies, adopts, and evangelizes best practices that ensure high-quality hiring practices.
What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)
- 5+ years of professional talent acquisition experience, ideally supporting executives in hiring leadership roles.
- Demonstrable experience in identifying, engaging, and closing senior-level passive candidates
- Experience partnering with founders and C-suite Executive teams.
- Prior use of talent market insights and data to influence decisions within the leadership groups and cross-functional teams
- Experience building relationships across a global business.
- Passion for problem solving, crafting creative strategies, and delivering significant impact.
- Strong proven experience and expertise in leadership recruiting or executive talent acquisition.
- Demonstrated personal accountability and integrity
- Ability to define and execute a search strategy with creative multi-channel sourcing in delivering top talent
- Ability to work across any job function
- Effective partner with hiring managers and teams, especially at executive level
- Excellent verbal communicator and active networker
- Ability to distill sophisticated information into a consumable and organized format with a focus on content, tone and structure
- Takes ownership and effectively manages time and process across roles
- Outstanding candidate relationship experience
- High school diploma, GED or High School Equivalency
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory environment as it relates to sourcing, selection, and hiring is required; including EEO, OFCCP, and Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures is strongly preferred
- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
