About the role
Â
Inspection, servicing, repair and overhaul of vehicles, assemblies, electrical and general equipment including diagnostic and inspection duties. Manufacture of miscellaneous items. Carrying out examination tasks to meet production needs subject to necessary training and proficiency.Â

Carry out duties as above to occasional civilian vehicles and mechanical equipment.Â
Â
Main Tasks:
The post holder has Responsibility for:
 ⢠PeopleÂ
o  Report near miss and accidents to Supervisor for escalation in a timely manner, in accordance with HSE policy.Â
Â
⢠Process
o  Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and other approved technical publications.Â
o  Diagnose, inspect and assess vehicles and associated mechanical / electrical equipment in line with skills & competency.Â
o  Ensure all job transactions are accurately recorded and carried out in accordance with current ERP processes and that work completed and time taken to complete the job is submitted daily to the department / section Supervisor.Â
o  Completion of vehicle and equipment documentation and test certificates / reports to current standards.
o  Ensure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose and un-used or new faulty material is returned to the section / department Supervisor as soon as it is identified.
o  Maintain the requirements of COSHH, Health & Safety and other statutory regulations. Ensure a good standard of housekeeping, cleanliness and safety in the work area is maintained at all times. Comply with local policy on the correct disposal of hazardous or waste products.Â
o  Inform the Supervisor of any issues which directly affect the repair process and any additional work to the task which is not detailed on the job card is deemed necessary to complete the task.Â
o  Consult Supervisor regarding any problems affecting Quality or Health & Safety. o Provide support across internal trade boundaries and Mobile Support Teams (MST) on a voluntary basis.Â
o  Execute other duties commensurate with grade and post on occasional basis as detailed by his / her Line Management chain.Â

⢠Tools
o  Creation of job cards and demanding material where the relevant ERP (SAP) training has been completed.Â
o  Ensure tools and workshop equipment is maintained in good serviceable order and report any faults to the Supervisor.
o  Ensuring work areas remain safety compliant in accordance with Quality standards and all relevant policies.Â
o  Ensuring personal compliance with PPE requirementsÂ

⢠ Individual Production Hours Gap (PHG) â Achieve a PHG of less than 5% each week (1.85 hours or less out of a 37 hour week not booked to a productive task or diversion code) throughout FYÂ
⢠ Procedure adherence â 100% adherence to flexible working and clocking proceduresÂ
⢠ Escalation of route time inaccuracies â identify and escalate to Supervisor allÂ

⢠ Individual mandatory training â To complete all mandatory training modules in accordance with the Technical Training Competence Matrix to agreed timelineÂ
⢠ Competence â 100% completion of currency and competency training requirementsÂ
QualityÂ
⢠ Team Quality â Following receipt and closure of investigation, to have zero customer complaints for quality defects found against work carried out by your work centre.
⢠ Target Quality â Report any quality issues in accordance with Target Quality standards (measured against quality issues identified)
What do I need to do the role?
Essential:
⢠ Educated to Level 3 in Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) / National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) as a minimum (Advanced Apprenticeship, Level 3 VRQ/NVQ)
⢠ Holds valid and appropriate UK driving licence

Desirable:
⢠ Holds at a minimum Category 3 F-Gas QualificationÂ
⢠ Holds 18th Edition Electrics Qualification
⢠ Holds valid UK driving licence with Categories C, C+E and H
⢠ Has equipment specific training and experience Â
⢠ Competent PC user (MS Office, MS Outlook, SharePoint, ERP system)
