Job Summary: The Senior Technical Writer will assist in creating Information Technology (IT) and application documentation to support the development of our programs, while having exposure to key departments within Crane Aerospace and Electronics, performing a variety of functions within the Compliance, Business Applications, and IT Infrastructure teams. The IT Technical Writer will work on policies, processes, procedures, training documentation and user manuals following guidelines, templates and standards allowing them to use their keen attention to detail to document, revise and/or edit written documentation. Experience working within the IT industry is required to be considered. This position is eligible for a Remote schedule which allows work-from-home but needs to be located near our site in Lynnwood, WA for occasional onsite meetings. Responsibilities Responsible for the working with subject matter experts (SMEs) to assist in creating, updating, and managing accurate IT internal policies, processes, training documentation and user manuals within company and industry rules and regulations Obtain data from review of documentation, interviews with SMEs, application and workflow diagrams, network topology diagrams and reports that are provided to update documentation Collaborate on outlines and drafts for review and approval by SME’s ensuring that final documents meet applicable requirements and regulations Update IT documentation per IT Change Control requests Proofreading and providing feedback on materials prepared by others Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of regulatory / DoD requirements and on published material, i.e. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special, Cybersecurity Maturity Model certification (CMMC) Publications and ISO27000 Format documents, and update standard templates as needed Ensure key messages are clear and consistent within and across documents Provide regular updates to team on status Organize and maintain documents in a documentation repository utilizing version control Evaluate and suggest enhancements to gain efficiencies Work well in fast-paced team environment Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of IT writing experience Experience in document formatting, reviewing, editing, and proofreading Ability to use Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat for editing and/or creating documents and diagrams Experience with using VPN for remote work Ability to create or revise technical/support documentation with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts Ability to manage time to ensure that projects are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations; ability to take initiative on a given task or project and persist with it to completion Ability to prioritize tasks Strong attention to detail Ability to understand and communicate within a technical or specialized subject matter expert Comfortable engaging in a variety of different communication modes (verbal, non-verbal and written) Strong active listening skills Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to effectively develop relationships Preferred Qualifications Experience in applying DoD/Government requirements of the NIST SP 800 series to programs and Cybersecurity Maturity Model certification (CMMC) Experience in applying ISO27000 requirements Understanding of documentation requirements for DFARS Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
