The role
The difference our new Survival Equipment Technician will make
As a Survival Equipment Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role assists in the Ground Movement of Aircraft and Flight Line Operations in support of the RAFC Cranwell Visiting Aircraft Section.
Day to day, you’ll schedule maintenance of Survival Equipment and Aircrew Equipment Assemblies, periodic, after use and corrective maintenance of wet/dry drill equipment, maintenance documentation and record to be maintained IAW current regulations, the correct engineering standards and practices are employed, the appropriate Health & Safety precautions are observed, calibration and recording of Torque tools as and when required, MOD form 760 and 765 raised and submitted, as necessary, the SE supervisor will be kept informed of progress of the work in hand and carry out additional task as directed by the SE manager/supervisor, which may include holding an inventory.

Essential experience
• RAF Survival Equipment Course or civilian equivalent.
• RAF Flying Clothing Maintenance and Fitting.
• Experience of Parachute maintenance and packing.
• Experience of Life Raft maintenance and packing
• Q-SE-AC or Q-AV-MED.
• Experience of RAF/MOD documentation.
• Obtain or have the ability obtain SC Clearance
Desirable:
• Experience in a Customer service environment.
• Experience of RAF Flying Operations.
• Aircraft Handling Experience.
• Computer Literate.
