The “Director Emergency Response & Disruption Control” will provide company-wide direction and support for Emergency Response planning related to emergencies, aircraft accidents and incidents, severe natural disasters, security events, etc.
You will be a central part of the Operations Control department based in Arendal, working closely with the entire dedicated Operations Team in Norse, as well as the entire global Norse family.

The position will report to Chief Operations Officer
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide company-wide direction and support for Emergency Response planning related to emergencies, aircraft accidents and incidents, severe natural disasters, security events, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the Emergency Response Manual (ERM) and related documents in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that the Norse selected company notification tool is accessible, well-maintained and the contact lists are updated.
- Develop and conduct ERP (recurrent) training for internal and external stakeholders to assure adequate preparedness and response.
- Work with all department leaders to ensure that ERP tasks and checklists are understood and followed.
- Conduct emergency exercises throughout the company on a regular basis to ensure effective command, control and communication.
- Collate lessons learned and ensure feedback is incorporated back into the ERM
- Ensure a culture of emergency awareness across Norse Atlantic and the continuous improvement of emergency handling within the company.
- Develop and foster relationships with Official agencies such as, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), Federal Aviation Association (FAA), Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA), National Emergency Services, Non-Government Agencies (NGO) and other relevant agencies.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive leadership experience.
- Strong ability to communicate, build and foster relationships.
- Extensive knowledge of Emergency Response, aviation and regulations.
- No remarks on any Criminal Record Certificates.
- Ability to interpret laws, regulations, and industry standards, and to incorporate them into company policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in conducting investigations and audits considered an asset.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
