The CS3 line of business operates across the UK, providing innovative and invaluable support solutions to our customers. Our team produces data driven applications to improve current business by providing functionality that improves workflows for our customers in the UK and around the world. The team, which operates across the UK, provides innovative and invaluable support solutions to our customers. We help to ensure the availability of front-line capability wherever and whenever required.
We are looking for a self-motivated
Oracle APEX Developer to join our growing digitisation project team. Reporting into the Project Engineering Lead the ideal candidate will create the systems and applications that will allow us to provide information to our customers (both internal and external).
What You Will Do As a Software Engineer
- Perform technical analysis on new work items
- Contribute to the design and development of new features
- Provide support for the existing codebase
- Cooperate with test engineers and end users to evaluate code changes
- Produce documentation in line with the software development lifecycle
- Assist with the expansion of the management information system (MIS)
We would like to hear from you if you have a combination of the following
- Experience of creating applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX)
- Knowledge of Oracle SQL, including data modelling
- Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Ability to write well-documented, high quality, maintainable code
- Experience of the software development lifecycle, e.g. Agile and Waterfall
- Good problem solving skills with a willingness and drive to find solutions
- Ability to communicate effectively within a team and with a wide range of stakeholders
- It would be nice if you had
- Experience of object-oriented languages, e.g. Python and/or Java
- Experience of using development tools, e.g. Azure DevOps
- Experience of using a data visualisation platform, e.g. Power BI
- Experience of using version control software
- Experience of design of micro-services and APIs (REST, JSON and SOAP)
Intrinsic Factors
- This role could be based on any of our UK sites, with the ability to use Custom (Hybrid) working to balance on and off-site working
- The role is likely to include travel within the UK, to support team and customer meetings. In some cases you will also be expected to stay overnight as part of this travel
