The
Military Support Programs (MSP) Avionics team is seeking a highly motivated engineer who is ready to lead the development and procurement of mission-critical flight hardware at the Waterton facility in Littleton, CO.
MSP offers a broad portfolio of contracts that fall into all stages of the product lifecycle (initial baseline, program execution, on-orbit operation) which creates an exciting and dynamic environment where the candidate should be comfortable with balancing competing priorities.
What does this role look like?As an
Avionics Design Engineer on the MSP Avionics team, you will be responsible for leading the technical development and procurement of critical Command and Data Handling (C&DH) hardware within the MSP organization.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:ā¢ Leading anomaly investigations and driving resolution between a diverse group of stakeholders
ā¢ Being in a high visibility role, interfacing with customer and executive leadership by communicating successes, issues, and roadblocks to procurement efforts
ā¢ Identify and mitigate hardware and subsystem risks, and leverage opportunities, by balancing technical, schedule, and cost factors
ā¢ Working with a variety of suppliers to deliver hardware, occasionally travel to support design and certification reviews
ā¢ Work with the entire spacecraft team and support the certification, installation, and on-orbit operation of your hardware
ā¢ Significant growth opportunities to expand role into technical leadership positions within growing Global Securities organization
We are looking for you to have:ā¢ Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware.

5 - 9 years of professional experience for this role.
ā¢ Willing and able to obtain and maintain a
Top Secret clearance, thus you are a
citizen of the United States.

Basic Qualifications:ā¢ Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
ā¢ Experience in Avionics Hardware Design and Test with understanding of electronics, structures, mechanics and materials.
ā¢ Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance, thus you are a US Citizen
Desired Skills:ā¢ Experience in Avionics Hardware Design and Test with understanding of electronics, structures, mechanics and materials.
ā¢ Experience leading anomaly investigations and driving resolutions through stakeholder consensus
ā¢ Knowledge of circuit card and electrical hardware test requirements and process.
ā¢ Ability to understand electrical circuits, interfaces, and interconnect diagrams.
ā¢ Basic understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
ā¢ Experience working within a Subcontract Management Team responsible for several supplier hardware procurement efforts
ā¢ Preparation for and participation in major program design reviews (Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Manufacturing Design Review, Test Readiness Review).
ā¢ Excellent presentation, oral and written skills.
ā¢ Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
ā¢ Strong problem solving skills, communication skills, and an ability to drive collaboration across teams.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
