Crane Aerospace & Electronics has a unique and exciting career opportunity for a Director of Quality in Burbank, CA This position provides quality leadership and has full responsibility for Quality at the Burbank Site regarding the Quality Management System (QMS), customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and product life cycle from Product Development, Production, Supply Chain and Aftermarket. The incumbent must be a proven effective quality leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, sense of urgency, demonstrated performance results and a continual improvement mindset. The specific functions for this position include the following: Directly lead and manage the functional quality organization on day-to-day basis across the Aerospace & Electronics Group to meet all AS9100 QMS & ISO 9001 standards Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain Leadership to ensure full integration of Quality Management System (QMS) into value streams. Establish a zero defect culture by leading the deployment and continuous improvement of Quality Strategy based on AS9145 Proactive approach with an effective accountability process is in place enabling prevention and control Drive accountability for daily performance reporting and problem solving of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety/quality/delivery/cost/growth (plan, do, check, and act) Develop and implement a quality organizational structure capable of supporting the strategic initiatives and lead the efforts to integrate quality into development of short and long terms business plans. Establish proactive business impact for the quality function. Ensure compliance with Crane, Crane Aerospace and Electronics (CA&E), customer and industry specific quality requirements by establishing an effective internal audit and assessment, robust corrective action process to validate and improve system effectiveness Ensure the effectiveness of measurement and monitoring systems to achieve improvement in Site business key metrics and quality processes key metrics. Ensure Advanced Quality Planning in Product Development Process (PDP). Utilize the quality function to provide oversight and enhancements to the PDP to verify appropriate processes and procedures are being followed to ensure customer performance measures are met and an zero defect transition in to production takes place. Effectively manages the supply base quality performance over the lifecycle (selection, qualification, management, monitoring and measurement. Ensure that the quality of purchased materials meets requirements and comply with applicable regulations. Utilize quality function to lead continuous improvement actions to improve quality metrics and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) Achieve leading customer performance ratings through the implementation of CBS and QMS, driving improvement in key customer metrics. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (EE, ME, MSc., Chem) from an accredited institution Minimum ten (10) years of experience in quality in Aerospace and Defense. Additional Automotive experience is a plus. FAA requirements Title 14 CFR 21, Repair Station Title 14 CFR 145 experience Expert level of leadership with in problem solving, Six Sigma, AS9145 DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, process control Experience with AS9100D and in customer specific quality systems and standards Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources Leadership and people development, roll up sleeves, establish a culture of quality integration into the daily production issues and product development, and develop his or her staff to work similarly Collaborative relationship with other functions focused on finding solutions that meet both our (internal and external) quality requirements and business objectives Strong critical thinking and complex problem solving ability with a bias toward a sense of urgency Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree preferred NADCAP experience ASQ Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer Six Sigma Black Belt Employment Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered.
