The S&LA organisation’s key purpose is to provide the relevant frameworks, processes and HSE, Radiological, Security and Licence Condition assurance to the business. Also, the SS&NA organisation interfaces with external non-financial regulators. The SS&NA Director is a member of the Submarines Assurance Committee, Nuclear Safety Committee and Nuclear Security Committee and carries accountability for safety as the Nuclear Sites Licensee Authority and Accountable Person for RRSL.. What you will be doing: You will be leading the business with other members of the Executive Leadership team. Role model for leadership / behaviours including expectation of leaders, code of conduct, HSE, Sustainability, Security, Internal Regulation of the Nuclear Licenced Sites, Nuclear Standards and NSMAs, Resilience and Radiological Protection. Managing operational HSE, Radiological Protection, Sustainability, Internal Regulation, Nuclear Framework and Standards, Resilience and Security performance within the functions. Define functional strategies that develop capability and protect the overall long term business objectives.• Define and implement relevant functional capability (processes, tools and people) to deliver the strategic plan and 5YP.•Manage function operating costs and manpower levels within the 5YP and budget. Role model for communications and engagement at all levels of the business. Leading relationships with customers, regulators and external bodies in the discharge of accountabilities. Acting as the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) for the business and provide security infrastructure and services. Assure regulatory compliance and fulfilment of LC13 requirements. Appointed as the Licensee Authority for the Nuclear Licensed Sites. Assure nuclear safety and security through chairing the Nuclear Safety Committee and Nuclear Security Committee and its associated HSE & Security Assurance Reviews. Manage internal HSE relations through the HSE Forum and external community relationships by means of the Local Liaison Committee. Provide Assurance on HSE, Nuclear Safety and Security to the RRSL Board. Appointed as the Accountable Person and Licensee Authority for RRSL. Appoint Licence Condition Sponsors & Owners and RPAs. Provide Governance to Responsible Persons and Senior Business Managers as the Accountable Person. Functional Management of the following functional groups, HSE, IR, Resilience, Radiological Protection. Leading Sustainability initiatives. Maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Certification.
