The Quality Assurance Representative possesses strong technical and regulatory knowledge and analytical skills associated with assisting customers with complex aircraft maintenance programs and major alterations projects. The Quality Assurance Representative will perform all assigned duties and projects following the GFL Part 145 CRS Common Manual System and Federal Aviation Regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing Repair Station work order forms and associated documents for accuracy and completeness in accordance with the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, applicable customer’s policy, and procedures, and applicable 14 CFR regulations prior to approving the aircraft for return to service.
- Generating aircraft major alteration and/or repair document packages; performing research of regulatory guidance and collaborating with FAA designated engineers, medical and aviation equipment manufacturers, aircraft manufacturer technical support staff, and alterations support vendors in order to compile a complete approved data file to address all aspects of the alteration and/or repair.
- Providing technical and regulatory assistance for all major repairs and major alterations applied to company/customer aircraft.
- Auditing aircraft maintenance records and generating Repair Station work orders for aircraft major maintenance and modification events.
- Performing a detailed quality review of GFL Repair Station Work Order, documentation packages prior to aircraft return to service.
- Assisting Part 135 Quality Departments with generating, revising, and administering aircraft Weight and Balance reports and associated Equipment Lists after major repair or alteration.
- Assisting field representatives interpreting technical data and regulatory compliance matters.
- Notifying Aircraft Owner/Operator to remove an aircraft from service when he/she has determined that an error has been committed regarding the proper documentation of maintenance or an alteration that is in violation of the policy and procedures of the manual and/or applicable 14 CFR regulations.
- Assisting with the removal of any suspect or unapproved aircraft components and/or parts from inventory and ensuring such parts are segregated to ensure they are not installed on customer aircraft.
- Assisting with Aircraft return to service processes after the performance of maintenance or an alteration in accordance with the Repair Station Manuals, customer policy and procedures, and applicable 14 CFR regulations.
- Assisting with aircraft acceptance inspections after EMS configuration completions, major maintenance and/or modification shop visits, ensuring conformance with the Aircraft TC, STC’s, Engineering (DER) approved data, and FAA field approval data, to include:
- STC drawings, instructions, specifications, and other pertinent data
- DER approved engineering drawings, orders, instructions, specifications, and other pertinent data
- Avionics installation manuals and drawings
- FAA AC 43.13-1/-2
- Structural Repair Manuals
- Other FAA accepted or approved data
Qualifications:
- Current FAA Airframe Mechanic certificate (preferred, but not required).
- Computer skills to include a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital record keeping software).
- Ability and willingness to gain a thorough knowledge of Customer’s General Maintenance Manual, SOP Manual, CRS Common Manual System, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Ability and willingness to work, days, nights, weekends, and on-call during the scheduled duty period assigned.
- Possess sound judgment and objectivity in critical decision-making situations.
- Possess honesty, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant aircraft.
