Bristow UK Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship Programme for 2023

Bristow offers the latest training and safety standards and includes a fleet of approximately 240 of the industry’s most modern aircraft, targeting the growing demand for reliable, integrated aviation solutions.

We are now seeking highly motivated and driven individuals, who are enthusiastic about a career in helicopter engineering, and wish to join our dynamic Apprenticeship scheme in September 2023.

The Individual:

•Candidates should hold a minimum of four National 5 (A-C) or four GCSE (4–9) or equivalent qualifications including English, Maths and a Science subject (preferably Physics), plus one other or;

•National 5 (A-C) or GCSE (4-9) or equivalent in English, Maths and Science (preferably physics), plus one Higher related educational qualification.

•You must have the right to work and live in the UK

•You must have been fully resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for the last 3 years

•Full UK driving licence (or provisional and actively learning to drive) with access to own transport is preferable.

•Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player

•A passion for aviation and engineering is a must and any experience with mechanical or electrical equipment would be an advantage

•Our apprentices enjoy working with technical equipment so previous experience with mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment that can be demonstrated would be an advantage

•Individuals who are selected for interview, must pass the entrance aptitude tests.

The Position:

•Initially, training will be completed at a training centre based in Gloucestershire, and on-the-job training at Bristow UK Operational bases throughout the UK (including Aberdeen, Humberside, Prestwick, Caernarfon, St Athan, Newquay, Lee on Solent, Lydd, Sumburgh (Shetland Isles), Stornoway (Outer Hebrides) and Inverness), therefore the ability to travel is essential.

•You will be required to undertake shift work, both throughout the Apprenticeship, and on completion of the course.

•You will be supported throughout all phases of the programme, initially securing UKCAA Part-66 Category A3 modules on a fully approved course and further modular and practical training towards a Category B1.3 or B2 licence.

•With qualifications gained and practical training your passion will be turned into practical experience in an exciting live environment where you will have the opportunity to learn and develop all of the key skills required to start your career in aircraft engineering.
