Primary Job Responsibilities:
As a Procurement Field Representative, you will help ensure on-time, high-quality and best cost for airplane parts and major structures being produced by Japanese Tier 1 suppliers and their sub-tier suppliers for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Day-to-day job responsibilities may include:
Identifying and analyzing problems, developing risk mitigation and recovery plans and monitoring supplier performance-to-plan to ensure delivery commitments to Boeing are met.
Communicating across functions (e.g. procurement, suppliers, supplier quality, engineering and manufacturing) and across cultures (e.g. Japan, United States) to report issues, concerns and identify solutions to mitigate risk related to products and suppliers.
Supporting on-site supplier assessments to identify supplier capacity and capability to support Boeing final assembly.
Identifying and recommending training on business and manufacturing practices to improve or enhance supplier delivery performance.
Supporting key Boeing initiatives and improvement activities, including Lean manufacturing and engineering improvements to support more efficient and cost effective manufacturing at Boeing suppliers.
Coordinating emergent and unplanned demand (aftermarket, spares) to ensure required lead times are met and parts are prioritized to best support Boeing final assembly and our airline customers.
Overseeing work movement projects.
Developing and maintaining presentation material for supplier and leadership reviews, creating schedules with timelines for key milestones, providing visibility of important projects and establishing and facilitating effective meetings.
Working with the team to plan and execute employee-related activities and initiatives.
Developing and sustaining strong relationships with suppliers and Boeing teammates across Japan and in the United States.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent English and Japanese language skills
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of work
Ability to take initiative to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner
Ability to prioritize by identifying critical and less critical activities and tasks within own and other work groups. Ability to adjust priorities when appropriate.
Ability to take immediate action when confronted with a problem or when made aware of a situation in own or another work area, which includes taking action that goes beyond job requirements in order to achieve objectives.
Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years of work experience in supply chain management
3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing and/or the aerospace industry
Basic Lean manufacturing and Industrial Engineering (IE) skills
Basic data analytics skills
