Summary of Position:
Assess the effectiveness of the FAA Production Approval Holder and offer recommendations. Recommend and implement ways to improve efficiency through decrease of MRB activity, eliminate waste, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction. Identify ways to make things better and track progress
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead problem-solving efforts to improve quality and eliminate waste in all areas throughout the Assembly and Flight Line process.
- Perform aircraft checks in order to analyze defect trends, maintain metrics, present results and develop improvement plans.
- Incorporate root cause analysis and verify that permanent corrective actions are implemented, thru physical verification on the aircraft. Identify and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of RCCA.
- Apply analysis to improve process capability thru CORRS data and Customer Discrepancies.
- Act as a change agent for leading and managing continuous improvement processes while instilling a culture of accountability.
- Identify continuous improvement events resulting in employee skill and knowledge development and KPI performance improvement.
- Participate in the internal MRB process.
Education:
Bachelorβs degree in a Manufacturing discipline preferred or equivalent combined experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an aviation manufacturing environment, preferably in a Quality Control / Quality Assurance role.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma-based continuous improvement methods.
- Hands-on aircraft experience desirable.
